Andrew was brought up on a hill farm in South Wales where he played, rode horses, helped on the farm and did a bit of studying. Although he did not do particularly well at school, he managed to read History and Politics at Edinburgh University and graduated with a 2.1 Honours in 1976.
For the next 4 years he worked with one of the banks in Edinburgh and studied Law and Accountancy at night. He could not cope with Accountancy but enjoyed Law and decided to commit financial suicide by returning to Edinburgh University to undertake an accelerated Law Degree in 1980. On graduating in 1983 he commenced his 2 year traineeship with the prestigious Edinburgh Firm W & J Burness (now Burness Paull) of Charlotte Square. Having completed his traineeship he decided to move out of the city and secured a position as a Solicitor with the highly respected Firm of Pagan Osborne in 1985. His son and daughter were born in 1986 and 1989 and he was assumed as a Partner in 1987. In 1992 he acquired the Kirkcaldy office business from Pagan Osborne and commenced practise on his own account.
Professionally, his time is spent advising various business clients, preparing wills/powers of attorney, providing advice on inheritance tax and care costs and undertaking residential conveyancing. In addition, he is responsible for managing the business.
Outwith the office he enjoys hillwalking, running and cycling with family and friends (although there’s no denying his Friday night runs to the pub are his favourite!) and enjoys reading primarily autobiographies and biographies.

Julie studied for her Law Degree at Aberdeen University, graduating with an honours degree in 1999, and then undertook her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Edinburgh University. She worked throughout her university studies waitressing in Pizza Express, working as a Kiosk Supervisor at Aberdeen Football Club (even winning Employee of the Year one year!) and also working in a bar a couple of nights a week. Throughout each summer she worked with Allan McDougall LLP in Edinburgh and on completing her Degree undertook her first year of training with them. She then decided to move to Fife and joined Andrew K. Price Limited in 2002. She has worked her way up the ranks from Trainee to Assistant to Associate and is now a Director with us. She undertakes mainly Executries, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax and general Care Costs advice whilst also engaging in Residential Conveyancing.
Julie is a bit of a social butterfly and enjoys nothing better than organising lunches and nights out when she is not spending quality time with her baby boy, Austen. She still manages to get up at 5.30am and fit in a work out before starting work though! She enjoys cooking and has for years taken part in “Tea Night” with her girlfriends – Come Dine With Me eat your heart out! They used to do it every week but now that there are ten children between them time and baby sitters don’t allow it! They do still attempt it once every few weeks though.

Sian joined the firm in 2010 having obtained an honours degree in Reproductive Biology at Edinburgh University and then having had a change of heart!
Rather than returning to university to study law, Sian decided to sit the Law Society of Scotland’s professional exams while undertaking a 3 year pre-diploma traineeship at the firm. This enabled Sian to get plenty of practical experience before returning to university to complete her postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at Dundee University in 2013-14.
Sian completed her “post-diploma” traineeship in 2016 and now undertakes mainly conveyancing and private client work.
Sian loves a night out in Edinburgh for dinner and cocktails but is truly a country bumpkin at heart. She likes to get out and about in the fresh air as much as possible and dreams of one day living “the good life” out in the country with a menagerie of animals. All while practising law, of course! For now, she makes do with living in town with her boyfriend and dreaming of getting a dog.
Sian also regularly walks up local hills and goes to the gym in an attempt to defeat the dreaded calories contained in her favourite cocktails and chocolates and to unwind after a busy day at work.

Alistair was born and brought up in Dunfermline before attending Aberdeen University where he obtained his law degree and subsequently his post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Alistair was determined to do more than simply study law during his time at University and, amongst other things, he enrolled with the University Air Squadron where he learned to fly and now holds a private pilot’s licence.
After leaving Aberdeen, Alistair returned to Fife to work as a trainee solicitor and was made a partner in Pagan Osborne at the age of 26. It was whilst working there that he first met Andrew.
Alistair has a broad range of both personal and business clients and now specialises in the purchase, sale, development and lease of commercial and residential development sites including the purchase and sale of businesses including a property element.
He was a Law Society of Scotland Council Member for 24 years prior to becoming President of the Law Society of Scotland in 2014/2015 and was appointed a member of the Judicial Appointments Board for four years from 2015.
Outwith the law, Alistair has many interests principally involving sports of all kinds, motor cars (particularly rallying) and, lastly, for relaxation, gardening!
Jan is our Executry Assistant and works alongside Julie in dealing with the day-to-day administration of estates.
Jan joined the firm in 2012 following our acquisition of local law firm, Beveridge Herd and Sandilands where she was employed as their Cashier.
Jan enjoys wining, dining and nights out but is adamant she doesn’t get to do this often enough so has to keep herself amused in between times with crosswords and Sudoku.
Jan also enjoys spending time with and walking her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Ben.
Myra is our Cashier and has worked with us since 2006 having previously been a book-keeper at an electrical retailer. Myra handles all of the firm’s financial transactions including dealing with clients’ monies and, importantly, staff salaries!
Myra is a keep-fit aficionado and is a member of Core Studio in Markinch. She loves participating in HIIT classes, Metafit and Grit.
To balance out this saintly side, Myra is also very active socially and often has plans to go out with friends for dinner, drinks, shopping, spa days and trips to the theatre.
To recover from all this activity Myra enjoys trips to Portugal twice a year to unwind and also loves relaxing with her favourite TV shows, Masterchef and Strictly Come Dancing.
Angela is one of our Secretaries and has a wealth of experience having been a Legal Secretary for in excess of 30 years! She joined us in 2012 following our acquisition of Beveridge, Herd and Sandilands. Prior to turning to the dark side (i.e. law) Angela worked at the Head Office of a local travel firm as an Accounts Clerk.
Outwith the office, Angela enjoys reading, walking and can often be spotted at our local gym and Zumba classes working up a sweat!
Angela enjoys regular holidays abroad with her family (and is often sporting an enviable tan!).
Margaret is also one of our long-suffering secretaries and has worked with us since 2005 (and assures us that she has thoroughly enjoyed it!) having worked in banking for 18 years prior to joining the firm.
Margaret’s children have long flown the nest and she and her husband now make the most of this and enjoy going out a lot. Some favourite activities include trips to restaurants, the theatre, walking, gardening and plenty of envy-inducing exotic holidays!
Terri is our longest-suffering secretary having worked with Andrew since 1989! She had ten years off to dedicate her time to bringing up her son Mark and returned to the firm in 2013.
Terri and her family enjoy holidays abroad to soak up the sun but also have regular activity/outdoor holidays to the likes of Centre Parcs to keep Mark happy!
Terri is a very keen artist and regularly delights the office with her work, a recent favourite being one of Julie’s son Austen for his 1st birthday. She loves both drawing and painting and shows her completed work at local exhibitions. She is a member of Kirkcaldy Art Club and enjoys attending classes there (although we are convinced she’s good enough to be running the classes!).
